EMS ProM-550(Electric Muscle Stimulator - EMS) is providing "passive" exercise by sending electrical impulses or signals to the selected muscle or muscle groups to contract and relax them. EMS is also known in some circles of the United States by the name Neuromuscular Simulator (NMS).

EMS Units help relieve pain, back, neck and body aches. EMS Units are used by Physical Therapists, Orthopedic Doctors, and Chiropractors. We carry a full line of EMS Units, Electrodes for EMS Units, EMS Accessories, TENS Units, Microcurrent Units, Interferential Units, Galvanic Stimulation Units. All of our EMS, TENS, Microcurrent, Interferential, and Galvanic Units are portable and may be used in home by the patient.
APPLICATIONS:
Relaxation of muscle spasms: Electric Muscle Stimulator (EMS) or Neuromuscular Stimulator (NMS) is a useful tool for prevention or retardation of muscle spasm, muscle re-education, maintaining and increasing the range of motion, and increasing local blood circulation. Common candidates for Electric Muscle Stimulator (EMS)or Neuromuscular Stimulator (NMS) include those in high stress situations who experience muscle tension in the upper back and neck areas, and those who suffer from chronic tension headaches.
Increasing range of motion: Electric Muscle Stimulator (EMS)or Neuromuscular Stimulator (NMS) is especially useful for those suffering from simple arthritic symptoms or "stiffness" in joints, muscle groups, or back areas.
Reduction or prevention of muscle atrophy: Electric Muscle Stimulator (EMS)or Neuromuscular Stimulator (NMS) will increase motion, range, and response of muscles, such as after surgery or being in a cast.
Re-education of muscles: Muscle fibers lose their ability to contract if they are not adequately used. Electric Muscle Stimulator (EMS) or Neuromuscular Stimulator (NMS) repeats contractions of designated muscles re-educating muscle fibers. This is particularly beneficial to orthopedic patients recovering from being in a cast or a splint, or bed-ridden patients who are not able to maintain their muscles (disuse atrophy).
Increasing local blood circulation.
Electric Muscle Stimulator (EMS) or Neuromuscular Stimulator (NMS) can be used in the clinic or at home in comfort and privacy with complete safety following the prescription and proper instruction from a physician/therapist.
The portable EMS ProM-550 is a battery charged pulse generator that sends electrical impulses through electrodes to the body and stimulates the underlying nerves or muscle groups. The device is provided with two controllable output channels, each independent of each other, an electrode pair can be connected to each output channel. The electronics of the EMS ProM-550 creates electrical impulses whose intensity, pulse width, pulse rate, timer ramp up, On time and Off time may be altered with the Set control buttons. Press buttons are very easy to use and the slide cover prevents accidental changes in the settings.

HOW TO USE THE PROM-550 DIGITAL TENS UNIT?
- Check Battery
Be sure you are using a fresh battery. Insert battery into battery compartment matching + and - indicators.
- Prepare Skin
Before attaching electrodes, identify those placement areas where your physician has recommended. Each location should be cleaned, rinsed and thoroughly dried.
- Lead Wires
The use of the conductive medium is subject to the specifications of the component parts contained in the unit or recommended by the dealer.
- Insert Pin into Electrode Socket Insert pin connector into electrode socket. It may be preferable to insert the pin connector before attaching the electrode to the skin.
- Adjusting the Controls
Be sure both amplitude controls for Channel I and II B are turned to " OFF " position.
- Connect Lead Wire to Classic TENS
Plug end of lead wire into the channel output receptacle to be use (A and / or B), pushing plug in as far as it will go.
- Place Electrodes on Skin
The use of the conductive medium is subject to the specifications of the component parts contained in the unit or recommended by the dealer.
