| Micro 100 Tens Feature |
This Micro 100 Tens unit is a battery powered multi frequency pulse generator. It sends electrical impulses through the skin using disposable conductive electrodes. The device has very few adjust ments which makes the Mirco 100 Tens very easy to use.
The main adjustments are current ( Labeled current on the front of the Micro 100 Tens)WAVE FORM and FREQUENCY. The current can be adjusted from 25 microapms to 8 millianosusing the knob labeled CURRENT on the top of the unit. Rotating the knob clockwise will in crease the current output. There are four frequenccies which are labeled. F1, F2, F3 and F4. The frequencies are adjusted by the knob labeled frequency to align the line on the knob with the frquency labeled on the face of the instrument.
There are 4 adjustments in the patient model the 4 adjustments are. ( from left to right) 1.) frequency, which is the at the of the device. This is a positive stop, four position switch. The switches are labeled F1, F2,F3 and F4. The frequencies wichi correlate to these 4 position are F1=3hz, F2=9.1hz, F3=30hz and F4=292Hz.
ON/OFF CURRENT the current canbe adjust from 0~8 milliamps or 0 to 900 microamps using the knob labeled. Rotating the knob clockwiese will turn on the stimulator and then increase the current output. The SLIDE switch adjusts the stimulator's current levels between 0 to 900 ma and 0 to 8 milliamps. The left position is the microamp range and the right position is the milliamp range. |

| Turning the Tens ON and OFF |
| On the (Top) threr is a switched knob labeled ON. When the knob is rotated clockwise, the switch is in the ON postion, the indicator (Light) on the (TOP) of the Mirco 100 tens will come on and begin to flash. The Tens is On, When the knob is rotated fully counter-clockwise, the device will be OFF and the light will go OFF. |

| Current |
| The CURRENT is the amount of electricity which enters the patient's body. The ON/CURRENT knob on the top of micro 100 Tens controls the CURRENT. It is labelled 1 thought 8. Turning the knob clockwise incereases the CURRENT.There are tow ranges for the CURRENT. These ranges are High which is 0 to 8 millimamps and is labeled MA and Low which is 0 to 900 ma microamps and is labeled ma. |

| Output Jacks |
There are tow output jacks on the right side of the device.
The electrode jack, provides the current for the treatment. It accepts the right angle sub-miniature plug which is connected to the electrode.
When the frequency is 3HZ, the LEDS flash on for about one second and then off for about 1 second . At 9.1 cycles per second the flashing is much faster.
That speed is still visible to the eye and is obviously flashing. At the HIGH FREQUENCY settings of 30 and 292 Hz, the light is flashing very fast and appears to be a solid light because it is flashing too fast for the eye to discriminate the flashes. |

| General Considerations for Use |
| 1. |
Apply the electrodes to your skin before turning on the device, Set the CURRENT to the desired level, which turns on the device. |
| 2. |
Although you may use the Micro 100 Tens as often as you need for as long as for need to achieve pain relief, you will probable need to use it only for 3 to 15 minutes at intervals of 3 or 4 or more hours. Some patients may find that constant use is needed to reduce the pain and that is also acceptable. |
| 3. |
Always trun off the stimulator when it is not in use. This will save the batteries. The batteries are working any time the device is turned on, even if it is not connected to the patient. |
| 4. |
Do not immerse the device in any liguid as that may permanently damage the electrodes and void your warrantee. You may use a soft colth and mild soap to clean the outside of the device. |
| 5. |
Do not sterilize the device. High temperature may cause the case to melt. |

| Skin Care |
| 1. |
Only apply to clean, dry, unbroken skin. |
| 2. |
Wash the electrode site with mild soap and water beteen application of the electrodes. |
| 3. |
Click but don not shave any hair at the electrode site. |
| Caution: While skin reactions are rare, they do occur. If irritation persists,consult your physician. |

| Prescribing Information |
Caution:
Federal Law (USA) restricts TENS device to sale by or on the order of a licensed physician.
Indications:
Transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS) devices are used for the symptomatic relief of chronic ( long term ) intractable pain and as on adjunctive treatment in the management of postsurgical traumatic pain problems. |
| Contraindication: |
| 1. |
Do not place any electrodes to apply current along the carotid sinus( neck ) region. |
| 2. |
Any use of TENS on patients who have demand type pacemakers is contraindicated. |
| 3. |
Any electrode placement that causes the current to flow transcerebrally ( through the head ). |
| 4. |
The use of TENS is contraindicated for undiagnosed pain syndromes until the etioligy has been established. |

| Warnings: |
| 1. |
The safety of TENS during pregnancy has not been established. |
| 2. |
TENS is not effective for pain of central arigin. |
| 3. |
TENS devices should be used only under the continued supervision of a physician |
| 4. |
TENS devices have no curative value. |
| 5. |
TENS is a symptomatic treatment and as such suppress the sensation of pain which would otherwise serve as a protective mechanism. |
| 6. |
The user must keep the device out of reach of children. |
| 7. |
Electronic monitoring equipment such as ECG monitors and ECG alarms may not operate properly when TENS stimulation is in use. |
| 8. |
It appears that electrode burns are more likely when the device is used in the DC mode, that is either in the plus or the minus polarity.
We strongly recommend that, unless you have a specific purpose for using the direct polarity, the device be used strictly in the bi-polar mode. When the device is dipenced, there is a label which locks the device into the bipolar mode. We suggest that this label lock remain in place unless there is a specific purpose for its removal. |

Isolated cases of skin irritation may occur at the site of electrode placement following long term application. |

Effectiveness is dependent upon patient selection. |

Minor skin irritation at the electrode site has been documented, on occasion , with certain hypersensitive individuals. |
