| General Information |
What is pain? pain is the body's warning system and is intended to prevent additonal injury. Pain is important because, without it, vital parts of our bodies might
be damaged or injuried without our knowledge. However, long-lasting, persistent pain, often called chronic pain, once diagnosed serves no apparent purpose. Interferential Stimulator(IF) is developed
to help relieve some types of chronic and acute pain.
How dose interferential Stimulation work?
Interferential Stimulator, means the transmission of a small electrical pulses through the skin into the painful area causing a mild tingling sensation. This senstion
works to prevent pain signals from reaching the brain.
The Interferential Stimulator use four electrodes which allow better focus and deeper tissue stimulation when compared to other types of electrical stimulation. Though
pain relief varies by individual patient and the type of pain, im many cases the stimulation will greatly reduce or eliminate the pain sensation. |
 |
Inmany patients the reduction or elimination of pain lasts longer than the actual period of stimulation (sometimes as much as three or four times longer). In others,
the pain is only modified while the stimulation actually occurs.
Treatment outcome will be influenced by the patient's psychological state and use of drugs. |

| Safety and Precaution |
| Caution: |
| Federal law (USA) restricts this device to sale by or on the order of a physician.Keep out of the reach of children |
| Indication: |
| Interferential Stimulator(IF) devices are used for the symptomtic relief and management of chronic (long time) intractable pain and as an adjunctive treatment in the management
of post surgical and post traumatic acute pain problems. |
| Contraindications: |
| Interferential Stimulator(IF) devices can affect the operation of demand type cardiac pacemakers. Interferential Stimulator(IF)is not recommended for patients with known heart
disease without physical evaluation of risk. Do not stimulate over the eyes or carotid sinus nerves. Do not apply interferential Stimulator(IF)for undiagnosed pain syndromes until etiology is
established. Any electrode placement that causes current to flow transerebrally(through the head). |
| Warnings: |
| This device should be used only the continued supervision of a physician. Interferential Stimulator(IF) is not effective for pain of central origin.(i.e., headache)Interferential
Stimulator(IF) is of no curative value; it is a symptomatic treatment which suppresses pain sensation which would otherwise serve as a protective mechanism on the outcome of the clinical process.
Safety of Interferential Stimulator(IF) devices for use during pregnancy or delivery has not been established. For external use only. Electronic equipment such as EKG monitors and EKG alarms may
not operate properly when interferential Stimulator (IF) is in use. |
| Precaution: |
| Avoid adjusting controls while operating machinery or vehicles. Turn the stimulator off before applying or removing electrodes. Long-term stimulation at the same electrode site
may cause skin irritation. Use only for the specific pain problem prescribed by physician. Effectiveness is dependent upon patient selection. |
| Adverse Reactions: |
| Possible allergic reaction to tape or gel.Possible skin irritation or electrode burn under electrode. |

|
|
| |
| Do's and Don'ts |
| A. DO: |
1. |
Do place the electrode only as your clinician recommends. |
|
2. |
Do Keep the stimulator clean. |
|
3. |
Do See your clinician if you have any problems or questions reqarding your system. |
|
4. |
Do Clean the cables only with water and mild soap.
Do not use rubbing alcohol or any other solvents. |
|
5. |
Do Remove the tlectrodes and discontinue stimulation if you experience skin irritation, until the source of that irritation is determined by your clinician. |
|
6. |
Do Turn both intensity knobs to "OFF" before replacing the battery. |
|
| B. Don't: |
1. |
DO NOT damage your stimulator by bumping, droping, or rough use. |
|
2. |
DO NOT engage in contact sports when using your stimulator. |
|
3. |
DO NOT get the stimulator wet. However, a damp cloth may be used for cleaning the outside only. |
|
4. |
DO NOT pull or kink the cables. |
|
5. |
DO NOT clean the cables with alcohol or Freon. |
|
6. |
DO NOT make abrupt changes of stimulator controls while operating potentially dangerous machinery such as power tools, automobiles, etc. |
|
7. |
DO NOT allow electrode gel to get into the connector holes of the electrodes.DO NOT allow the electrodes to touch each other during stimulation or improper stimulation and poor battery life will
result. |
|
8. |
DO NOT give the device to other individuals |
|
9. |
DO NOT storage the unit below temperature less 0°C or over 50°C |
|
| |
| Front cover, Remove electrode cords |
Portable
Your stimulator may be clipped to clothing such as a belt, vest, shirt pocket or bra
Front Cover
Lift the front cover with your thumb.
Removing Electrode Lead Wires
Turn both channel controls to "O"(off). Then unplug the electrode lead wires, grasping them by the plug, not the cord, if treatment will be resumed shortly, the electrodes may be left on the skin.
When the electrodes are removed, clean the skin and electrodes thoroughly with soap and water. If there is skin irritation from tape or gel, consult your medical professional.
