DUAL/SINGLE CHANNEL:
COM -TENS may be used as either a single or dual channel unit. Thus, two pain areas may be treated at the same time. Alternatively, both channels may be applied to one area using an 'inferential 'pad pattern. |
COM-TENS TIMER:
COM -TENS is one of the only units available to provide this option. Useful for stimulation prior to going to sleep, when after the set time COM-TENS will switch itself off. |

| COM-TENS MODES |
| Normal - (continuous) is the most often used type of stimulation. It is thought to achieve effect by closing 'gate cells' in the pain pathway' to the transmission of pain signals. |
| Burst - a useful extension of TENS. Burst mode increases the release of natural morphine-like chemicals (endorphins) into the fluid surrounding the spinal cord These potent painkillers often produce a sustained pain relief |
| Modulated - of patients who use TENS for protracted periods of time. Each surge is gradually increased in strength, held on a maximum, and then decreased for a gentle, soothing style of stimulus. |
